We focus on what resonates with our clients’, then balance preferences with designs that are classically inspired and extremely well-made pieces.
Social media makes this challenging with feeds flooded by “top 10 design trend tips” and “interior must-haves.” At AWWI, we strongly encourage clients to resist the urge to follow the herd. We focus on form x function + timelessness. Lasting design is always our goal.
There is no replacement for excellent craftsmanship. We take our cues from nature to discover what wears well over time.. Marble, solid wood and metals thrive when exposed to elements and become even more beautiful.
In a world where global mass fabrication and buy-it-now prevails, we focus on what will endure. We are vehemently against filling landfills by purchasing “disposable” furniture to finish a project quickly or chasing trends to revise designs frequently. We also believe in supporting and compensating artisans and craftsmen for their skill, time and talent. It’s worth it for the planet, your wallet over time when you still love your investment years later.
The simple answer is no but, it really comes down to two things. First, because every designer and every project are unique, it’s important that we meet and each feel a spark of excitement and confidence about working together. Second, after a brief phone conversation or walkthrough, if the vision and budget align, then we’re in a great place to move forward.
We actually love smaller projects! To maintain spatial harmony however, the work must include the entire room or rooms under contract and not just a “band-aid” here and there. For most people buying a home is the most expensive investment of their lifetimes. It’s perfectly reasonable to want to take a slower, more measured approach to renovation and design.
